Home  /  Privacy Policy

This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their “Personally Identifiable Information” (PII) is being used online. PII, as used in US privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. Please read our privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your PII in accordance with our website.

What personal information do we collect?

When ordering, scheduling a service or contacting us through our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, mailing address, phone number or other details to help you with your experience.

When do we collect information?

We collect information when you submit a contact inquiry, service request, BlackWeld quote request, or other form on our website. Requesting a quote does not place a paid order.

How do we use your information?

We may use the information we collect from you when you register, make a purchase, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing communication, surf the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways:

  • To allow us to better service you in responding to your customer service requests.
  • To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site feature.
  • To prepare and respond to requested quotations, maintain submission records, and send receipt and follow-up emails.

How do we protect visitor information?

We use security measures designed to protect the information submitted through our website, including encrypted transmission, form validation, and restricted administrative access. No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.

Information submitted through our forms is maintained in business records accessible to authorized personnel and service providers as needed to process requests. Our contact, service, and quote forms do not request payment-card information.

We use submitted information to review inquiries and service or quotation requests, retain related records, and provide confirmation and follow-up communications. A quote request does not authorize payment or constitute a completed purchase.

Do we use cookies?

We do not use cookies for tracking purposes. Our site keeps your in-progress order in your browser tab only until you close it; it stays on your device and is not shared with us until you choose to send it.

You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies through your browser settings. If you disable cookies, some features that make your site experience more efficient may not function properly. You can still contact us by email or phone if a browser feature is unavailable.

Third-party disclosure

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with trusted service providers who support website hosting, data processing, business communications, and related operations, subject to their applicable service arrangements. We may also disclose information when required by law.

The website links to external resources and may load services or assets from third-party providers. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices.

Google

Google’s advertising requirements can be summed up by Google’s Advertising Principles. They are put in place to provide a positive experience for users. We have not enabled Google AdSense on our site but we may do so in the future.

California Online Privacy Protection Act

CalOPPA requires commercial websites and online services that collect personally identifiable information from California consumers to post a conspicuous privacy policy stating exactly the information being collected and those individuals with whom it is being shared. According to CalOPPA, we agree to the following:

  • Our Privacy Policy link includes the word “Privacy” and can be easily found on every page of our website.
  • Users will be notified of any privacy policy changes on this Privacy Policy page.
  • Users are able to change their personal information by emailing us.

How does our site handle Do Not Track signals?

This website does not currently implement a custom response to browser Do Not Track signals. Hosting and external services may process technical request data for security and service operation; we do not represent that this means no technical data is collected.

Does our site allow third-party behavioral tracking?

We do not allow third-party behavioral tracking.

COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act)

When it comes to the collection of personal information from children under 13, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) puts parents in control. We do not specifically market to children under 13.

Fair Information Practices

If a security incident affecting personal information occurs, we will evaluate applicable notification obligations and provide required notices under applicable law.

We also agree to the individual redress principle, which requires that individuals have the right to legally pursue enforceable rights against data collectors and processors who fail to adhere to the law.

CAN-SPAM Act

The CAN-SPAM Act sets the rules for commercial email, establishes requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to have emails stopped from being sent to them, and spells out tough penalties for violations. If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, email us at contact@blackcardesque.com and we will promptly remove you from all correspondence.
